Hat Trick

The term probably originates from bridge, the card game. During game play, four cards are compared and the highest card wins the comparison. In the jargon of the game, each round of comparison is called a "trick". A hat trick involves winning three tricks, generally in a row, which pratically assures winning the current round of play.

1) Ass hat - a term used by Agent Booth in bones episode "The Sin in the Sisterhood " season 6 episode 16

Agent Booth uses the term in a joking conversation with bones talking about the victim & his multiple marriages

2) The term Ass Hat is used to describe someone who is being stupid or someone who has their Head up their ass

Bones : "moron is a little harsh to describe someone who is living a life style you are uncomfortable with "

Booth : "Ok how about nitwit or doofus? "

Booth : " are you agreeing with me"

Bones: " only so far as the victim should have realized, how complicated his relationships would become in our present culture "

Bones : " in that case and in that case only he -he was a ... Nitwit (laughs)"

Booth : " (laughs) he was a bonehead"

Bones: " I like that it's very appropriate for my profession"

Booth: " (laughs) how about this ASS HAT... The guy was a real ASS HAT"
