Emo

It's a word that recently seems to have lost all meaning. It is not music. It is not a style of how people dress. It is not people who cut themselves. It is not a watered down style of goth. It is a almost meaningless word like nice. It is a word that was poked, prodded, overused and left to rot.

That pink and red striped shirt is sooo emo.
You're emo.

Emo

It does not mean to cut your wrists or wear skinny jeans or have side bangs. To cut your wrists means your depressed, to wear skinny jeans is along the lines of clothing and fashion, and having side bangs is about hair. Being Emo, is not possible because Emo is a music genre, meaning "Emotive Hardcore" and last that I have heard, people can not be a music genre

if all of u think that emo is short for emotional then u r all emo. every one has emotions and get emotioinal. emos are comfortable with showing their emotions unlike the rest of you who are too pussy to show your emotions. GROW THE FUCK UP! so leave us "EMOS" alone. and for thoes of u who think that My Chemical Romance is emo u are greatly mistaken. they are the best band and are great at what they do. so leave them alone. they actually help to save peoples lives.

Emo

The sub-culture taking suicide by storm. Teenagers may find themselves interested in the music ie. Aiden, My Chemical Romance, The Used but that doesn't inicaite them into this "emo" culture. Black jeans, black hair and side finges have been previously worn by non "emo's" so therefore they have nothing to do with being emo. Example, the band The (International) Noise Conspiracy. Cutting yourself is not compuslry if you wish to be an "emo".

Kid 1: I havn't heard of that band... are they emo?
Kid 2: No... actualy their not. More Punk/Alternative if you ask me.
Kid1: But the lead singer has black hair?
Kid2: And...?
Kid1: Only Emo's have black hair.
Kid2: So I'm guessing your mum's emo then.
