A term used to describe something such as a flat tire. Basically because everyone is blaming the "economic downturn" for everything.

Friend one: Dang! I got a flat tire!

Friend two: What are you going to do, its an economic downturn...

Economic Turndown

A fancy name for being rejected for a job opportunity based upon the employer's excuse that "times are tough and they're just not able to hire anyone at the moment".

Despite posting record profits in the previous fiscal quarter, the major pharmaceutical company declined four dozen people at job interviews and gave them all an economic turndown.

Are highly paid professionals who cheat countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars. They funnel money from the World Bank, the U.S. Agency for International Development and other foreign aid organizantions into the coffers of huge corporations and the pockets of a few wealthy families who control the planet's natural resources. Their tools include fraudulent financial reports, rigged elections, pay offs, extortion, sex and murder.

Economic Hit Man are a big part of the globalization movement. They are highly paid consulants who travel the world.

economic democracy

A socioeconomic philosophy that seeks to equalize decision-making power by giving ownership of businesses to the workers that run them. Allegedly, this will even out the distribution of wealth by shifting power from the minority (corporations) and put it in the hands of the majority (the people). Society will then democratically be able to choose the level of resources allocated to businesses.
