Get the You cannot judge a book by its cover mug.Mainly used for the fact that appearances have to make sense sometimes. It is important to not judge by appearances but even then there are some times where the good guy actually needs to look like a good guy, and the bad guy needs to look like a bad guy.
I'm just saying would you ever guess some hideous and grotesque behemoth is the hero and some beautiful and kind spoken princess is the villain? Honestly, you should usually judge a book by its cover.

A place you could change your clothes in case you were seen as you fled. A get-away car. A route that would avoid both police on the way to the shooting and traffic cameras. And then you would need to drive the speed limit all the way home to resume your daily life without interrupting your work schedule in such a way that it draws suspicion. This guy clearly didn't just wake up one morning and say 'Hey imma do a murder right-quick.' No. This was PLANNED."
