Putin Effect

Unintentional reverse psychology, where threats made to get someone to obey you instead causes them to go against you.

Origin: Putin threatened to use military force & nuclear weapons against Finland & Sweden, to prevent them from applying for NATO membership. The two countries realized that they could not defend themselves against nukes & the entire Russian military if they stood alone, leading to them joining NATO.

Ergo threats meant to subdue these countries caused them to stand up against Russian imperialism.
-"I told my boyfriend that it was me or the dog, but instead of getting rid of the dog, he dumped ME!"
-"Well, that's the Putin effect for you."

Homelander Effect

When an actor, like Antony Starr, melds into their role so perfectly, like Homelander, the two identities are inseparable. May or may not dictate acting career to similar characters in other movies, shows or videogames. Other examples are Giancarlo Esposito as Gustavo Fring, RDJ as Tony Stark, and Arnold Schwarzenegger as The Terminator.
Friend one: I saw Antony Starr across the street last week and was lowkey scared that he was going to fly into the air and Lazer eye someone
Friend two: ah, classic Homelander Effect.

Long Effect

The "Long Effect" originates from the the city of philadelphia. It's when someone goes from a gym bro to a slacker and months even years pass from getting gains. The individual starts suffering from delusions of false strength, endurance and overall discipline but really is just a small, fragile, female dog. This disease can last a lifetime and is extremely contagious.

Chronicler Effect

When one adopts the persona of having a crush on someone not available to them (usually because they are fictional or along-dead historical figures) for the sake of a joke for so long that one develops a legitimate crush on them.

Named after a member of a history-themed discord server who acted as a chronicler of all the events occurring (this happens to be me lol).
Chronicler: I say Anna Komnene my beloved, but is it sad that I think I legitimately have a bit of a crush on her now?

Sokrates: Same, I think I might have actually got the Chronicler Effect. I 've got an actual crush on Belisarius as well!

golf-course effect

This is the type of facial hair with dual or multi escelons of hair giving the appearance of a golf course. Imagine the transition from the green, to the fairway, to the rough...
often not attractive but perfected by some.

Sometimes this can be attributed by laziness or immaturity--inability to grow hair evenly.
"Billy's beard is the perfect example of the golf-course effect."
