The "intentional" qualifier is important to note, as one must actively wish to spend time with a diggfellow, and frequency without desire is insufficient.
As an example to highlight the distinction, Frank might interact with his "bff" only on occasion, as they live in different states and are not particularly satisfied by long-term communication. Their interactions, when they do occur, are closer than with any other friends Frank has, however. Most nights, Frank spends time at a local friend's house, just chillin' with a couple o' diggfellows. These diggfellows are close friends and do share some level of emotional intimacy, but not to the extent that Frank and his bff do.
