A beverage one partakes in that has an original owner that is not themselves. Much like a Tommy Bahama beach chair that someone brings to the beach or an event that inevitability is sat in by a secondary party.

Tommy buffer

The Tommy buffer is accounting for additional time when inviting a Tommy to an event. The buffer scales based on the importance of the event, and can range from 30 minutes to 2 days.

I’m so excited for my party but I had to use the Tommy buffer to make sure that Tommy was there on time.

Tommy: A short and stumpy man who sits in the back of class and communicates with absolutely no one. He’s quiet but when he talks he’s a funny guy. He likes to mew in class and mog others. He’s a powerful women magnet but doesn’t like to use his power (he’s scared of women). He can push a whole lunch table off of the bench, and has achieved the jack build. He’s a gentleman and a scholar.
