Baiting

A tactic used by lonely social media trolls to lure victims into their comments only for their own amusement. This is done by posting pejorative comments, random arguments, and offensive statements to rile up those they are clearly trying to offend enough to pay attention to them. This is so that they can spend their time trolling you in the comments section and tagging you on every opinion they have on the subject and why they are correct.

Facebook Example
Absolutely Nobody:
Baiter Comments: Trump is a genius and only idiots who don't understand politics would disagree with the way he ran this country.
Bait: I disagree and here is why... Etc.

I want to comment, but it's clear this guy is just baiting people in the comments to get a rise or response from the people who don't share his opinion. Probably best to just ignore it and move on with our lives.

comment bait

a shameful tactic that content creators use to get mindless NPC's to comment on their videos. The content will usually have zero context, contain blatant lies or something they pulled straight out of their ass to invoke controversy. The more comments they receive, the better the chances are of the video going viral. Similar to clickbait and rage bait except the goal is to confuse the viewers into getting them to interact with each other. avoid.

B: "this guy really posting saying he is god and was reincarnated in china. he also has gta 7.
A: "bro, that shit is obv comment bait. gtfoh."
B: "you right, he ain't worth my time."

Gooner Bait

Gooner Bait is a piece of media ( typically a video game or anime) which contains copious amounts sexual imagry, despite not being explicitly pornographic. Features commonly include scantily clad "women" of "indeterminate" age , extreme jiggle physics, and ads which leave nothing to the imagination as to the primary audience.

When a woman (usually a drop dead gorgeous one) makes a post online in a way that makes desperate men respond to her in order to stroke her ego.

Lauren posted up a picture of her in a bikini saying, "No man wants to date her." And before you know it, she got a thousand likes and comments from men within the hour. Talk about simp bait.
