Burnspare is a fanfiction trope used to describe a longfic where the main ship get together relatively early in the fanfiction. It's derived from the term "slowburn" and shortened from "burnt with rope (left) to spare".

"Hey did you look at the fic I sent you?"

"Yeah, it looked pretty long though. I don't like fics with too much pining."

"Oh don't worry, it's burnspare!"

or,

"I'm so tired, I was up till 3am yesterday reading burnspare."

or,

"I wouldn't be able to write slowburn or burnspare, too many words! I'll stick to the oneshots."
