Copping the wire

Prison slang for stealing another inmate’s items off their fishing line (the string they use to send exchange items between cells).

Sometimes when the line is sent to the gallery, another inmate snatches it for themselves.

I tried sending Bill some coffee on a line, but he never got it because someone has been copping the wire.

Police officers who are put places to show a "presence"
Typically at high school football games & malls. They actually think they have authority because they boss around kids for standing in the grass.

Doug - "Yo, you just are that? Talk about a waste of tax money."
Gus - "Yeah, They be puttin Prop-cops everywhere like they be makin a difference."
Doug - "Right, and the jack-offs really take their jobs seriously. They're getting ready to pull their gun because these teens be loitering."

Custody-by-Cop

The American practice of circumventing due process rights and constitutional guarantees to life and liberty by using typically fake domestic violence claims against a partner to secure children in a stalemate developed by neither party voluntarily willing to move out of a home or use the court process to decide custody issues.

Flummuxed by the reality their child was raised from birth by a stay at home dad, the mother crafted a custody-by-cop plan to call police faking violence towards her which resulted in the father being arrested and prohibited from returning to the home later.
