Taiwan

Officially known as the Republic of China. A de facto island nation in East Asia not recognized my most permanent UN members in the world. The one proof that democracy can work in China due to their same same but different cultures. Also a major economic powerhouse and is important to both China and the US. Is likely to be the epicenter of the second cold war between the two global superpowers. It has the nicest people in the Greater China region as well.

"Is Taiwan a part of China?"
"No, it is technically its own country, but has no legal recognition other than a handful of countries. Pretty nice place, though. I recommend visiting the country!"
