Secular Progressive

A term coined by FoxNews' Bill O'Reilly to describe liberals in a negative way as a means to perpetuate the conservative myth that all liberals are evil and want to destroy America as we know it.

A thinly veiled attempt to further divide our country in a time of national crisis in order to solidify the conservative base of "Traditionalists" as described by Mr. O'Reilly.

"Some say Secular Progressives want to ban Christmas, tell us why this will hurt the democrats"

"My boss at FoxNews wants me to tell you why Secular Progressives want Saddama Bin Laden back in power in Iraqistan, so let's get started..."

Progressive

University educated younger working professionals often living in newer, trendy, upscale type of neighborhoods. Most believe their higher education puts them a good cut above most poor in society and will lead them to a peaceful, quality, happy successful existence in life. Some men living this type of lifestyle can often been seen riding bicycles and often enough put an 'S' on the back of their car windshields at least in Albuquerque, NM or put something about 'Superman' on their license plate to boost their ego or accomplishments. These types of people are the new super hero's in society at least to their own type. Contrary to what most believe they are NOT liberals but more conservatives. They try to 'defy all stereotypes' so the critics can't possibly classify them into any negative based category of which has worked well. It is a trendy respectable thing for them to advocate positive change for humanity or environment but they often look after their own interests in practical reality.

A younger progressive University educated lady asks me what are you buying all the vinegar for? She says your trying to 'go green' and save the environment aren't you? She says that's such a nobel cause as she checks out with her organic veggies and fruits. I refer back that I'm just poor and vinegar happens to work better or be cheaper than other cleaning supplies. She immediately takes a disinterest after that response never looking back again.

Metal Straw Progressive

The type of liberal you may know who cares about the environment and animal rights, but doesn't seem concerned about issues of intersectionality, social class, racism, or human rights. If they do care about anything related to human rights, it's usually just white feminism.

"Kristin may own a metal straw and use recyclable bags, but she called Middle-Eastern woman a terrorist. She is an example of a Metal Straw Progressive."

progressive metal

Metal that despite how good it can be, is often listened too and defended by pretentious people. Often "prog metal" as its known, is said to me metal for "intelligent people who have good taste". This is not to say that prog metal can not be good, it often is. However it is not always as heavy as other forms of metal, such as Thrash Metal or Heavy Metal.

"James is so pretentious sometimes, when I was listening to Master of Puppets earlier in the car he just kept going on about how much better progressive metal compared to thrash, then he started on about Dream Theater"
