A creative way for fans of a specific work of fiction to actively shit all over a writer's hard work.
Typically characterized by bad grammar and worse writing, fanfiction strives to undermine the careful development of popular characters by having them act in character-breaking ways.
The goal of writing fanfiction is often to find popularity among fellow unpublishable writers and fans of a common work of fiction.

"In my spare time I enjoy writing LOTR fanfiction that goes wholly against the characters and world Tolkien strived to create. I am the cancer of the creative writing world."

A fanfiction is where an author takes the characters, or story from a book/movie/etc. and create a new story/movie/book/etc. from it. The author of this piece of work would not have been there in the creating of the original work.

Taking existing personalities in the public knowledge, such as celebrities, or ficitonal characters from books, movies, video games, folklore, etc., and writing a text about them fucking, getting married, and having babies.
"I read this fanfiction online about Harry Styles pissing in this girl's vagina, getting married, and having her babies. It was so wholesome."
"Dude, this Harry Potter fanfic is so good. Harry wants to show Hermione his D, but the only D she wants is Draco Malfoy. Oh, and they get married and have babies."
