An event when someone (Sethener) you know becomes suddenly “awoke”, and embarks on their own path of right and wrong and decides to use his or her friends (Sethenee) to perform a mass genocide of social and mental anguish via cowardice and lies, so that the friends may suffer just as much as they do.
Peter lost all his money gambling. Peter will stop at nothing until everyone he knows loses their money too. The Sethening has begun.

American Dad and The Cleveland Show are not used as frequently for this purpose, and are more or less cheap spin-offs of Family Guy, with their respective characters filling in each family role (Peter = Stan = Cleveland, and so on).
