core shot

Skier/snowboarder lingo for a hole that has appeared in the base/bottom of one's ski or board. Usually caused by a rock.

I knew we shouldn't have gone snowboarding today. Mammoth's base depth was only 35 inches and there were rocks everywhere. Now I have a quarter sized core shot on my brand new $1,000 Burton Vapor!!!!

Corbett

A unit of measurement of martial prowess. A single corbett being the equivalent of one 'Ronnie Corbett' (OBE and diminutive comedian) defeated in unarmed combat to the death. Subsequent corbetts are presumed to be attacking in concert. ie if a man was rated six corbetts, he would be able to defeat six Ronnie Corbetts simultaneously.

Don't mess with that guy, he'll fucking destroy you, he must be about fify corbetts.

New processor line developed by Intel Corporation. Based on the P6 and P4 Mobile architectures, it outperforms the AMD competition at a lower price point. It features more effecient instruction decoding, larger cache, a higher FSB, and a higher IPC, all while producing less heat.

Core 2 Quad

A quad core processor developed by Intel (which in fact it's composed of two Core 2 Duo processors). It features a cache memory up to 12MB and 1333MHz FSB.

It's preceeded by the Core 2 Duo line and suceeded by the new Core i7 line, a quad core processor supporting Hyper Threading Technlolgy (8 threads) and a new socket and FSB speed as well.

The Q6600 is a mainstream Core 2 Quad processor running at 2.4GHz, 1066MHz FSB and 8MB L2 cache. It competes with AMD's Phenom processor.
