scemo

A crossover between the emo and scene kids subcultures. In recent days, scemos have been identifiable mainly by their music taste, which consists mainly of MCR, Fall Out Boy, and Panic!at The Disco (though bands like Mindless Self Indulgence, Jimmy Eat World, All Time Low, Pierce the Veil, etc. are also popular, and some are even fans of Twenty One Pilots and the like), 2000s fashion and hairstyles (usually long, ironed, and colourful), and an aesthetic inspired by MySpace graphics and glittery gifs. They often post under tags like #emocore or #scenecore

While at their peak in mid-to-late 2000s the two subcultures often competed for popularity and recognition, making any overlap rare, in recent times emo kids and scene kids have almost completely merged in order to avoid extinction, and the scemo label has become a staple of 2000s revival movements. The Scene

A blanket term used to describe the underground modern rock scene which is formed by the amalgamation of Emo's, Hardcore Kids, 13 Year Old girls, and Myspace Whores. It has its earliest roots in the punk movements of the 70s and 80s, that took place in rock clubs on 2 continents, but went through a great metamorphosis with the advent of Myspace and the Internet. Myspace music's user base, which consisted mainly of the above became exposed to styles from metalcore to pop-punk which would have never occurred otherwise. Today, it is a strange creature with its denizens enjoying everything from Bring Me the Horizon to All Time Low. Events such as Warped Tour and Bamboozle and publications such as Alternative Press have helped to further stitch together this patchwork of people and music styles. It has made a major impact on the music industry by increasing the importance of the internet as a distribution medium. This comes as no surprise since many of today's radio-rock bands started in it(AA Rejects, Fallout Boy) and got their first tastes of success through the net.

However, the scene is not without its critics. Some argue that it has cheapened the value of music as anyone with internet access can start a band. Others criticize it for its loud and obnoxious denizens.

Tons of crappy music comes out of The Scene every year, as well as a few gems.

That kid is definitely a part of The Scene.

Scene

Some one who thoroughly believes that by wearing multi colored pants, having big chunky black hair, looking like a stapler attacked their face, and wearing dinosaurs and Hello Kitty shirts, they are better than the rest of their peers. They usually act in an outlandish "I'm special, can't you tell by the skinny jeans and bright colours?" attitude. They can be spotted at hardcore shows, though it is rare that they make it indoors *glug glug*. The common 'Scene Kid' likes to keep all of the best parts of childhood, but is still 'way too out there' to be a child... that and most children aren't whores-male and female scenesters are. Scene Kids listen to shitty scene music, and keep livejournals because they're so outlandish that they don't need privacy.

Scene Kid 1: Love the Thomas the Choo Choo back pack and the Ariel hair clips! They match your septum piercing and venerial diesease perfect!

Scene Kids

You change your "style" because that is whats cool at the moment. Believe it or not, even when your in a highschool with uniforms, these people will always find a way to "express" themselves. Here what I see in my school...

-lip rings or "snake bites" ?
-boys who look like they have boxes around their head
-Owns a guitar, just because its cool to say you have one, but you don't know how to play one god damn song
-pokes holes in their sleeves to make it look like your wearing gloves???
-Black, chipped nail polish
-Straigtens their hair because apparently your natural hair style is "un-cool" and "ugly"
-You cut your own hair ...
-Omgzz lyk add me on ur myspace dude, cuz ur soo kewl i <3 u lolz
-Wears a certain style of glasses because Pete Wentz or Brendon Urie has the exact same pair...
-Takes pictures of themselves
-HEAVY EYELINER
-Girls like to talk sexually to each other...Not sure why
-Pearls, bows, weird head bands, weird belts, striped/polka dot or some other abstract sweater
-DUDE DUDE DUDE DUDE DUDE
-weird ways of saying hi to you
-The "emo jeans" ...essential

Her:IM SO JEALOUS, EVERYONE HAS A PIC WITH THEIR FAVOURITE BAND AND I DONT :(
Me: Uh...Thats nice?
Her: MY LOCKER IS SO HARDCORE DUDE, YOURS IS SO PLAIN
Me: That's nice...
Her: DUDE!
Me: Yes?
Her: DO YOU LOVE ME?
Me: No..
Her: OMGSHH YOU MAKE ME CRY

It gets extreamly boring and pointless after a while.

Scene girl

A girl who is usually confused with beeing emo. They are attention whores (no-offence).

Hair: Often blonde or black with sopme kind of unatural color. Its also usually teased the bigger the better. The hair is always straightned and they go through lots of hairspray. Hair extensions help alot. The hair is epic.

Shoes: Vans,Converse,Skate shoes, as of now ballet flats. Remember the morer colorful the laces the better.

Jeans/pants: Skinneys are a must the tighter the better. Rips and holes are also excepitable just make sure you have crazy colorful leggings to go with them. Denim mini skirts are okay to.

Shirts: Random logos. band tees are great too. Make sure you have plenty of tees with cartoon characters such as Gir, My little pony, power rangers etc. Lacy colorful tanktops are great to.

Makeup: Thick eyeliner is a must. Usually black but remember to put some color in it the more colorful the better! Scene girls also usually use fake eyelashes and colorful eyeshadow almost to the brow.

Music: Is very important. Scene girls usually like local bands and are always at concerts. Scene girls often listen to anything exept country and most rap.

Etc: Make sure your always on your cell. or myspace (make sure you post lots and lots of pics of yourself) Piercings are great but that all depends on you. There names are also important such as Kiki Kannibal.

Scene girl #1-Are you going to never shout never's show tonight???
Scene girl #2- Pshyah its gonna be the absolute Sexx!!!!! And plus what kind of lame wonder duck isnt going?
Scene girl #1- Hah! I knew you were my favorite Biatch for some reason.
