Bærmand

A derogatory term used as a homophobic slur in the early 20th century. The term originates from the Danish word "bær" (berry) and "mand" (man), and was first popularized in a pejorative context following the publication of Herman Bang's novel "Sommerglæder" (translated as "Summer Joys"). In the novel, the term was used to describe men, often of a heavier build, who would venture into the woods under the pretense of berry picking but were believed to be engaging in homosexual activities. The slur combines the connotations of both deception and a contemptuous view of their physical appearance and sexual orientation.

Notably, Herman Bang was a gay man himself, which adds a layer of irony and complexity to the term's origin. The term reflects societal prejudices and the stigmatization of homosexuality during that period.

Verb: to be "baerded" is to be caught by surprise by the King Shark scene in Suicide Squad 2 with no way of escape. May cause extreme shock, rage, enlightenment, and/or heart attack, depending on the victim's worth.

Noun: the baerd, with it's advanced adaptations and intricate behaviours, represents the pinnacle of avian evolution.

Bakersfield Nortenos: refer to subsets of the Norteño gangs or members operating in Bakersfield, California. These groups are affiliated with Nuestra Familia, a prominent prison gang. Traditionally, the borderline location between the Nortenos, and Surano gang territories is Bakersfield California. Bakersfield Norteno history tied to the Nuestra Familia, Bakersfield norteno roots trace back to the Correctional Training Facility a prison in Soledad CA, back in 1965. The gang formed as a protective alliance for rural northern hispanic inmates facing extortion and violence from the Mexican Mafia.

Gonzalo "Chalo" Hernandez, of Bakersfield, was a original member and co-founder of Nuestra Familia, and later became head of the NF organization. Rodolfo "Cheyenne" Cadena, was a prominent Mexican Mafia member from "Varrio Viejo gang." In early 1971, Chalo and Cheyenne forged an "La EME-NF" truce, which lasted around 6 months.
