Get the Noob Pills mug.A period of heightened activity in an online multiplayer game when new players arrive in droves.
During this period, veterans help acclimate the newcomers (by fragging them over and over), while the game hosts deal with the increased server demand (and the coincidental flood of vets complaining about flood-induced lag and outages).
Typically caused by said players acquiring the game for Christmas—often months or years after the game was first released—but also on the rare occasions that a paid game becomes free to play.

Get the Noob Cop mug.An individual that lacks the ability to demolish fellow players' hopes and dreams of escaping noobhood (noobhood: a phase in one's life in which they're terrible at everything). Noob should only be used when referencing video gameplay. Any other usage will result in placing the verbalizer back into noobhood, thus sending them to noobtown (where all the noobs reside). The majority of noobs refuse to accept the fact that they are noobs. They tend to be within the age range of 9-99. Auto correct will underline the word noob with a red line. It will try to tell you the word doesn't exist. But auto correct is, in fact, extremely wrong, thus making it nooby. When being pronounced, the long sound of the two O's must be elongated. This is done to avoid pronunciation of the word as "newb". Anyone that pronounces "Noob" as "Newb" is automatically dubbed a noob. Noob CANNOT be spelled:
