A speech virus is an insidious word or phrase that sneaks into your speech making you sound like a dunce to other people.

There are MANY speech viruses. Here are a few examples: you know, uh, man, dude, like, and many more.

In short, we can say what we want to say, within certain limits. Yes, you can say "FUCK YOU" to a police officer and call your lawyer (if you're stupid enough) and get away with it. You can't give threats or endanger public safety, however.

Basically, if you want to use it, keep your lawyer on speed dial and have deep pockets.

The act of getting so drunk, and emotional, that for no discernible reason you break into a Scandinavian accent, and tell someone you barely know how important they are to you.
