Queer-Switching

The practice of moving back and forth between two languages or between two dialects or registers of the same language at one time. This is more commonly known as code-switching and something people of color do to fit into a white society. But this specific word relates to switching the way a LGBTQIA+ person talks around other non LGBTQ people. For example using someone’s deadname and she/her prounouns around family members they aren’t out to. And then using the correct name and their real pronouns around others.

The establishment of cultural customs, norms and identity based around the LGBT Community, LGBT Rights and queerness present in the greater national stage.

Not to be confused with Homonationalism.

Homonationalism is using LGBT Rights to justify a culture of injustice.
Queer nationalism is a culture born from LGBT Rights.
Don't confuse the two. Ever.
