spoiler troll

A type of troll who spoilers works of fiction for others for the lulz.

A particularly infamous example is the drive-by spoiling of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" at a midnight release party.

So I told my friend that I've been playing Persona 4 lately, and he keeps mouthing off about the identity of the guy behind the TV murders. Stupid spoiler troll.

One who updates their Facebook status to gain attention by posting useless information to annoy alleged victim(s).

Status Troll thrives on status replies from target victim (usually premeditated), so please be advised DFTT.

Scenario:

Status Troll knows of a victim that's been wanting a DSLR, Status troll knows victim will reply...

Status Troll: "Picked up a 5Dmkii..." Updated: 10 secs ago.
Victim: "Man, WTF! If I didn't tell you about it, you wouldn't get it... Lucky..." Updated 2 secs. ago.

Victim fed the Status Troll and was hungry for more...

Status Troll: "Yea, I just got it for the hell of it..."
Victim: "You Status Troll..."

soft troll 

The soft troll is the counter part to the more provocative, traditional trolling used to incite anger and hostility. The goal of the soft troll is to inflate the ego of the reader and to gain readership. Commenters cannot resist displaying their superiority and even go so far as to display their comments on social networking sites. What results is a mass intellectual "circle jerk" of people who, while smart enough to correct the mistakes of the poster or point out the obvious joke the poster was illiciting, are not self aware enough to realize that it was all set up. There is no damage done to the posters themselves, they will go on thinking they are quite clever. The true spoils of such a troll go to those who ascertain the true goal of the poster. A symbiotic relationship emerges where all parties walk away feeling superior over the other.

The stay at home moms and 12 year olds on my facebook wall totally fell for my soft troll.

Butt troll 

One who's conception is the result of an accidental leakage and transfer of semen from the soon-to-be mother's anus to her vagina. Assuming the feces covered sperm reach an egg cell and successfully fertilize said cell, the outcome will be a rather poor excuse for a human child. This child (Butt Troll) will be forever ridden with terrible hygiene and an uncommonly low level of intelligence.

Brittany's parents should have paid a little more attention to their post-anal-sex clean up process. That girl is smelling up this entire building. I guess I wouldn't expect much else from a Butt Troll though.
