a verb meaning completely dissimilar to marmite. for something to be 'rootkin' it must possess none of the chemical properties of marmite, or be perceived socially in a similar way. it must be a different colour, texture and taste to marmite, and when faced with consumption must react entirely differently to the resignation with which marmite allows itself to be eaten. there must be a minimum of three different opinions on anything which is rootkin.

Rootyeah

Rootyeah is a relatively new colloquial adjective emerging from Australia used to show appreciation or admiration. Combining, the word root - a slang term for sexual intercourse and yeah, the word is often used at a time when something is seen as good as a root. Rootyeah is most commonly used as an expression of joy and is best said while gripping the area just above your left wrist with your right hand.

"Bloody hell m8, look at the size of the snapper I just caught!"

"Rootyeah m8, that'll go down well, with my bundy and coke on the balcony this arvo."

Roots Hipster

A type of hipster that is typically interested in traditional folk and country music, with the emphasis being traditional! They tend to show a disdain for indie folk and related genres which they claim only corrupt the genre's purity. Also Roots Hipsters tend dress in clothes that were popular at the turn of the 20th century in the style of the day as opposed to the so called individualistic twists of regular hipsters. In conclusion Roots Hipsters tend to dislike regular hipsters because their belief that regular hipsters don't know what real culture is and couldn't appreciate it if they did.

Johnny " Hey did you hear, Mumford and Sons is coming to town? You should take Joe, he's a total hipster." Sam " Don't you know, Mumford and Sons is for stupid people who don't understand what real folk culture is." Sam walks away puts on his derby hat and begins listening to some Old Time Mountain Music.
