Term is later popularised by Youtuber Gigguk during 2020 during a Trash Taste Podcast episode.

Get the Turkish Culture mug.A business culture that was created in response to the numerous "Karen" videos posted online in the early 2020s. Rather than listening to genuine complaints (bad customer service and poor quality of product etc) many employees began assuming that anyone who complained, regardless of the legitimacy of the complaint, was a "Karen" and would not put any effort in fixing the underlying issue, as it was assumed by the employees that it was the customer with the issue rather than the business itself. As a result, the issues within the business were never fixed resulting in a gradual exodus of consumers and, ultimately, the closure of the business.
People use to love that restaurant but the quality of the food and the customer service got so bad that it just wasn't the same. There were a ton of negative reviews of Google about these issues but there never seemed to be any effort to acknowledge or fix them. It was a victim of Karen Culture.

Get the landmine culture mug.A subculture gaining traction worldwide, brought about by the ever expanding technologies capable of monitoring performance and bodily functions. Metrics ostensibly meant to help individuals perform better, lose weight, sleep better or just feel better may impart helpful information but also feed a never ending spiral of performance obsession and weight loss fixation. Replacing intuition about one's own body with a set of numbers may move the individual further from reality than closer to it.
