Even if a treasured object was passed along to you at the discretion of a
family member or close friend of a deceased person instead of by said
individual himself/herself (or at his stated request to said executor to give the item to you), said
wonderful heirloom can still have immense receivedimental value to you --- simply being warmly told, "I know that So-and-So would have wanted you to have this" can "mean the world" to the recipient of said treasured possession.
