Rather than eliminating meat and/or animal "products" from their diets, the compromise vegetarian lessens the impact of his or her diet by restricting animal consumption, eating much less meat than typical, scheduling vegan or vegetarian meals whenever possible, but not turning down any food they might need on the appropriate occasion.
