Like a child who doesn't figure out the stove is hot the first time, many people repeat the same hurtful mistakes in life and end up getting "burned"--and inexplicably seem surprised each time. They are effectively putting their hands on the stove again and again and don't figure it out because they think it's a different stove entirely each time. The solution? Remind them it's the same stove.
Mark: "Man, I just know this girl won't be like all the others before her! I can feel it in my heart! Just 'cause she acts and talks like them and has burned dozens of men before me doesn't mean it will happen this time!"
Cameron: "Dude, I hate to tell you this, but it's the same stove."
Mark: "You're so wrong!"
Cameron: "Same. Stove."

A event that occurs when you are walking towards someone and you both try to get out of each other's way but end up choosing the same path.
Walking down the street, hallway, or just walking in general and you see someone coming at you and at the last second you both turn to get out of each other's way, but just get in each other's way again. And then you try to go the other way, and they go that way too. Basically it just keeps going until you either finally guess right or, in the more extreme cases, you decide to just stop and tell the person where you are going.
"We same-stepped for a while before I just decided to stop and ask him which side he wanted to pass me on so I could go the opposite."
"John tried to go to the right, and avoid Jill, but he ended up same-stepping with her. It was an awkward dance."

"I'd like the memo to get out by Tuesday, that way we can all be on the same page for Friday's meeting."

When individuals or groups of individuals grew up in or were aligned to separate institutions or cultural settings, but which share the same common beliefs or way of life, they are the "same things"
George: "Hey, this is a brilliant night, 2 Rostrevor College lads and 2 St Ignatious lads, getting involved."
Joel: "St Ignatius/ Rostrevor, its basically the same thing!"
All: "same things!"
