A phrase used do to the pre notion of someone saying something stupid, obnoxious, rude, or negative.

Matt walks in the door with a disgruntled look on his face. Liz is getting the kids ready for bed. The dishes aren't done.

Matt: thinking to himself "why aren't the dishes done?"

Liz:" shut your thoughts up!"

Save-A-Shut

1: The act of not shuting your van door when you get out because you know you are going to get back in shortly, in an effort to preserve the door mechanism.
2: The act of telling someone to, in a sense, shut up.
3: The act of saving or preserving anything, be it physical or otherwise.

1: "Hey, why don't you save-a-shut on that door?"
2: "How about you save-a-shut on that story?"
3: "You've had five beers already, how about you save-a-shut."

Sleep Shutting

You close your laptop lid during sleep and don't remember it when you wake up.

You fall asleep watching a tv show on your laptop with the lid up on your laptop so you can see the screen, you wake up in the morning with the lid down. You have closed the lid during your sleep but when you wake up don't remember doing it.

Sleep Shutting has the same effects as sleep walking.
