When someone says “Do you need that?” they’re basically challenging the other person. It’s usually said in a condescending or provoking way, almost like daring the other person to back up their words or actions. It can also come off as a warning, as if to say
After the guy kept talking tough, Jason stepped closer and smirked, saying, “Do you need that?”—almost daring him to make a move.

Or "He's on medication"... what it really means is that he's an a**h**e, but we don't want to admit it.
I always disgustedly roll my eyes when someone tried to play down someone's destructive/abrasive behavior by saying, "He needs more training", when I know very well that the person in question is simply a no-good jerk, and so no amount of "training" or "counselling" in gonna help him... if he's evil or selfish by nature, there's nothing that others can do to "reform" him; he himself has to WANT to change his ways before any positive progress can be made.

Hym "Give me a fuck break asshole, I am between an ambulance and like some extracurricular medical attention to all times. Seriously, why don't you pay me like a fucking doctor if you want me to diagnosis myself? Dr. Hym. First diagnosis: Not fucking TMJ. I mean, can you believe this guy? If you were paying me like a doctor we all wouldn't be here right now, would we? Alright? Do you get it? You need really gotta relax with that shit. It doesn't need to be whatever you're trying to say it need to be to be legitimate. It involves real anecdotes from my real life and real memories. There is only 1 guy here. I don't see how my role in my thing is any different from your role in your thing, except, mine is better and you're getting paid and your dick sucked for being worse."

Still a fat retard and, hey, why is my job letting the fat retard who literally got caught breaking the law keep he job and instead of firing him, reducing my hours again? I wonder what that is all about. Is it blatant and overt me-specific discrimination? Yes. Obviously. That big nosed bitch wants to deny me any leverage I would have to make her give me enough hours to accumulate any money... So she is letting the fact the a 19 went into my register and bought himself tobacco products even though he's underage slide to cut my hours.
Hym "It isn't that I don't need to know it's that I can use the consequences of what your are doing to people as evidence that you are wrong and then I don't have to murder your kids and let the therapist plants you've paid in advance to lie about brain infection sweep me under the rug. Then I can punish the people directly responsible and you would rather have the kids get murdered than that."

When someone offends you and you can ask them the phrase as if they need that feeling of offending you.

when you walk into a place and everyone starts staring at you, well in that case the need level is high.
-walks into a bar and everybody is staring- "the need in this place is high af"
-a person looks at you, you look back at her and ask- "need?"
