SOPS

Acronym for Sudden Onset Painful Shits. Occurs at random, often in the middle of the night, and can have multiple bouts in one occurrence.

Johnny woke up at 4:10am feeling like he was stabbed in the gut, and soon realized he better go sit on the toilet. After a painful 15 minutes of feeling like his colon was on the verge of prolapse he went back to bed. Johnny woke up again at 5:05am with an all too familiar feeling... SOPS!

A recent nickname (first heard in 2003) for northern New Jersey, generally used by residents of South Jersey. Refers to the popular HBO series The Sopranos which takes place in North Jersey.

I'm going to drive up the Turnpike to Sopranoland tonight to watch the Devils game.
