1. In football, to give the ball some welly from 40 yards out in the hope you will score a brilliant equaliser and be carried off the pitch by adoring team mates, rather than hit a defender or balloon hilariously over the bar, as you almost certainly will.

2. In a wider context, to refer to somebody having a jolly good go at something that they will inevitably fail at.

:Ones in ability to be more than lame. In fact, to be so lame one might just sing the Kanye West & Jay-Z song replacing the accronym H.A.M.
:Going L.A.M. - A person caught wearing a Sheep skin coat that gives the appeal as though they just woke up from a 25+ year coma.

Tray and Jai'nah met up at a the club one night, and decided after the club to have a little party of their own. After bringing Jai'nah to his apartment; She and Tray go into the bed room to have sex. Tray, to his own belief thought he was GOING H.A.M (Hard As a MuthaF%@#ah) in the bed, when in fact, according to Jai'nah was really Going L.A.M. (Lame As a MuthaF%@#ah).

going spiral

The exact opposite of "going viral." Occurs in a manner akin to Sisyphus attempting to push a boulder up a hill only to have it roll down again and again, endlessly. Use "going spiral" to describe endless striving that yields no results in spite of one's best efforts.

Even my best stories will never go viral. I'm doomed to a life of "going spiral," always circling the drain.

Pokémon GO à la Trump, where players hunt for digital apparitions of ex-President Donald Trump and some of the notorious morally bankrupt GOP lawmakers, being caught indulging in some unethical or immoral activities at some locations frequently patronized by them, before these Trumpémons are being dealt with by different destructive tools.

Trumpémon GO is pretty additive among tens of thousands of Democrat voters and mainland Chinese students studying in US colleges, with some of them being made penniless after splurging so much on digital currencies to track their favorite Trumpémons.
