Phone bondage

Phone bondage is a somewhat uncomfortable situation when two people are talking on the phone and one person keeps talking, preventing the other from hanging up. Somewhat tolerable for the person who wants to hang up, but also somewhat unpleasant because they want to hang up--similar to some of the effects of bondage.

"Ahh man, we've been talking on the phone for 5 hours straight, I need some sleep."

(other person continues conversation and ignores the comment)

"Agh, this is seriously unfair phone bondage..."

(other person continues conversation to first person's expense)

Sally calls the big corporation bank to ask about an issue with her account and a mechanical voice {the phone-bot}answers the phone saying "please listen carefully as our menu options have changed"

Mark was a phone hobo over a week while getting his new phone through work.

Phone vulture

A person who spends the entire day waiting for a phone call, usually darting their eyes to the phone every few seconds to see if it would start magically ringing. Like a vulture, whenever someone else would like to make a phonecall or receive one, the phone-vulture screams at them to "keep the freaking lines open", and on most occasions rears up to attack.

For cellphone-users, people usually look at the screen every two minutes to see the time, and check their inbox for any unread text-messages.

Fred: Did you see how Jenny was waiting around the phone like that? My grandmother is calling today and she won't let me use it.

Carol: Oh, yeah. She had a one night stand with Tom and he's supposed to call her. Of course he never will, but you know how much of a phone vulture she can be.
