The genre is quite popular in the UK and Central Europe. However, it is still a primarily underground genre. Averaging roughly 174 beats per minute, it is great music to listen to while running or climbing stairs.
Major record labels producing Drum and Bass music include Hospital Records, Ram Records and MetalHeadz. There are also a wide variety of YouTube-based labels out there, notably UKF and Liquicity.
