Like some Americans think British people have messed up teeth and are VERY POSH whereas we British find American stereotypes as fat and lazy (More likely rednecks) gays with there collar up and their shirts unbuttoned

A stereotype is to catergorize a group of people. People don't usually understand that type of group or person , so they put them into classifications, because they think that person is only good at that , and thats the way it is.

To stereotype someone is to place them in a group with everyone of the same nation, color, heritage, etc. Most of them are negative and untrue, some are true but are still offensive.

Asians are geniuses.
Asians suck at driving.
Jews are greedy.
Americans are fat.
Canadians all say "eh" instead of "huh".
British people are snobs.
British people have horrible teeth.

Black people are ghetto hoodrats with zero money.
Black people are super racist.
White people are perfect.
Irish people are all drunk potato eaters.
