A Chicago Black Hawks fan, At one point a few years ago, The Black Hawks only had a quarter of their fans showing up to the games. But at their Stanley Cup parade they had 2 million. So as of 2010, if you became a Black Hawks fan THIS MEANS YOU!

Theres a BandWagon Hawks Fan in section 208 screaming because he thought that Hawks got a penalty, but they just went offside.

Bandwagon Fan

Anyone who claims they are a "fan" of a particular sports team, even though they had no prior support for/interest in the team until that team started winning. These types of fans only show playoff interest, have probably never watched a regular season game, don't own any type of team merchandise, nor would they buy any.

Everyone in Cleveland became a bandwagon fan only after LeBron James got drafted and they made the playoffs.

A person who prior to the playoffs, did not support nor cheer for a team until that team showed promise to win the championship.

Randy and Ryan are low dow rotten bandwagon jumpers becuase they started to cheer for the Carolina Hurricanes when they made the Stanley Cup final!

Bandwagon Dodge

The act of deliberately immersing yourself in the source material of a soon-to-be-released film adaptation so that you can claim to have been a fan before the film. This means that even if the film is good and people like it, you can tell them that it "wasn't as good as the original novel/comic/whatever" and feel smugly superior in your broader understanding of the franchise as if you were a genuine long-term fan.

When I heard they were making a film of Kick-Ass, I performed a Bandwagon Dodge by reading the original comics and then telling all my friends after we'd seen and enjoyed the film that I thought it "was good, but lacked the realistic grittiness and intellectual thematic content of the original comic" which I had read about a week earlier.
