Gary purchased a cell of the Hanna-Barbera cartoon character, Baba Looie, which he called “Baba Booey.” Gary took a lot of ribbing from Howard and gang over this and somehow, the name took hold.

The viral meme "Bababooey" originates from this radio thing where this one guy was talking about this toy or smth from america called "babaloey" and he messed up the name calling it "Bababooey" several times, and that is how the meme was born.

Not to be confused with "Bababooey," a nonsense word that people find quite funny, bababooie is a word that is somewhat akin to hakuna matata (no worries for all your days). It is an interjection that esssntially just means, "Stop thinking so much! It'll be okay!"
