Puzzled, perplexed, completely confused (about a subject or some task at hand), lost, bewildered. This idiom transfers the condition of a vessel that has lost its bearings to the human mind. Charles Dickens used it in Little Dorrit (1855):

Similar to the mile high club in all ways except that this club is joined while on a cruise ship.

Victory at sea

The term used to describe incredibly windy and choppy conditions in the ocean. Often used by surfers to describe stormy surf conditions. It is derived from the old tv show Victory at Sea from the opening scene showing a very stormy ocean. Some people simply call it VAS.
We couldn't surf today because the conditions were victory at sea.

A euphemism for taking a dump. Much in the vein of 'taking the Browns to the Super Bowl' and 'taking one's talents to South Beach.'
