Grant Hill

used to modify a noun. can be a noun, verb, or adjective. to imply an overhyped subject, often facing great expectations, failing due to sickness or injury.

This is mocking and drawing a parallel to an NBA basketball player by the same name that was greatly hyped coming out of college. Hill spent four years maturing his game in the pros before injuring himself and never completing a season injury free in six years. Hill spent a good portion of his prime b-ball years on benches nursing various injuries.
"Dude, Jerri Lynn's been out of the office for like six months with that foot injury."

"Yeah, and management still loves her, she's Grant Hill."

"I would have been a STAR if it weren't for that knee injury."

"You can't Grant Hill your way out of the fact you always sucked."

hill giant

Any person of unusually large stature, usually female, who is both tall (5'-10" and over) and posseses a large frame. Typical prominant features include broad shoulders and unusually large hands/feet. The condition of being a "hill giant" in no way negates attractiveness; rather it is more a condition of appearing like an average sized person who has been xeroxed at 120%.

You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue? You fenians forget some things. (James Joyce, Ulysses. Penguin Books,1992. p. 38)
