The manic pixie dream boy (MPDB) is the male equivalent to the manic pixie dream girl. He tends to be gentle-natured, low testosterone and non-threatening, and looks like he's just stepped out of a boyband... indeed a lot of boybands are designed with that look in mind.

A Manic Pixie Dream Girl or MPDG, is a term coined by film critic Nathan Rabin after seeing Elizabethtown. It refers to "that bubbly, shallow cinematic creature that exists solely in the fevered imaginations of sensitive writer-directors to teach broodingly soulful young men to embrace life and its infinite mysteries and adventures." A pretty, outgoing, whacky female romantic lead whose sole purpose is to help broody male characters lighten up and enjoy their lives.
This theory states that any male who has participated, or is currently participating in the sport of colorguard, becomes 1,000 times more attractive than he normally would be. For example, a male who is usually considered a 4 would become a 4,000 on the hot scale. Although it has not been scientifically proven, many consider this theory to be law.
