Psychological response wherein a Trump supporter immediately latches onto any excuse, no matter how feeble, implausible, or contrary to video evidence that the excuse may be, to justify Trump's behavior before and during his presidency.
The excuse often mirrors Trump's own excuses, or those pushed by right-wing media, and can change multiple times in a day, often contradicting earlier excuses. Sufferers of TES are unable to recognize those contradictions.
Common examples include: "He was just being sarcastic." "That's just fake news." and "That was Obama's fault."
My grandpa told me today that Trump was just being sarcastic when he suggested we inject disinfectant, even after we watched the video of it together - I fear he might have a terminal case of Trump Excusal Syndrome :(
Boyfriend : look, can we please just talk about what happened later?
Girlfriend: Yes, and I can't wait to hear your excusplanation about it.
Boyfriend : what's wrong? Why are you mad? What did I do wrong?
Girlfriend : everything! Please explain this <insert whatever made you mad here> to me!
Boyfriend: it wasn't me! I didn't do it! I don't know how it happened! I would never do that! I wouldn't lie! Please believe me even though I can't explain anything ever at anytime nor do I have to because I'm innocent!
Girlfriend: of course, i should have known. More empty excusplanations.
