It can be said like this:"its good to see you again." translating into you having missed their presence and being so glad to see them again.
I missed my best friend so much, that I was filled with joy when I got to see her again, and it meant so much to me.

Normally used by teachers to cover up when they make an idiotic mistake. By saying "Just trying to see if you were paying attention" teachers can make it seem like they meant to make their dumb mistake, when really they're just stupid...

Hate to see it happen is a casual but common phrase that can be used in most conversations. Say someone has died in the family, hate to see it happen, say you break a leg, hate to see it happen, say ur dog’s left legs brother’s cousin’s aunt is on the loose again, hate to see it happen. The list can go on forever because you just hate to see it happen.
