Taunton 

Nice and pleasant small city 40 miles south of Boston. Contrary to other posts Taunton is an extremely safe city with a low crime rate. Its overall crime rate is well below the national average in every category. In fact crime is lower than cities its size such as Barnstable(Cape Cod) and Haverhill among other Massachusetts cities. No Ghettos!! These people need to drive 90 miles to Springfield or Holyoke to see "ghettos". This is Not an impoverished city like Holyoke or Lawrence. Convenience stores don't have bullet proof glass and No bulletproof drive-throughs at fast food joints. It might be a crappy place to some in comparison to the surrounding rural towns but to most its an above average small city.

Taunton 

A good city south of Boston. It may have it's bad points, but it is a city full of culture and history. Mainly influenced by Portuguese, Cape Verdian, and other ethnicities, it is a good place to live. There are always events going on for the different age groups in the area. If you don't live here, you don't know what it's like to live in Taunton.

Person 1: You live in Taunton?! That must be hell with all the gangs!

Person 2: Personally, I've never seen any real gang violence in person. It's a nice place to live.

Taunton High School 

A crucible of fire. The perfect mix of the cream of the crop and the worst students in all of Massachusetts. The teachers joke that there are actually two schools depending on whether or not you teach AP kids or not. It's terrible design and building material perfectly fit in with the city it's built in. Your experience at Taunton High will either be a magical fun experience of education or an endless onslaught of disrespectful teachers and aggressive peers, pretty much all depending on how you do on your first year there. The food is pretty garbage (besides the salad) and all of the head staff will be extremely rude to you unless you're an outstanding student or on student council. The best redeeming quality THS has is that there's a lot of elective courses to choose from so it can help you figure out what you're interested in.
