A person law enforcement cooperates with to put in a situation to build a case against another.

Also known to run with a ragtag police department whose incompetence

is so horrible they've issued warrants for individuals in supermax prisons and probation violation warrants for dead people based on sketchy eyewitnesses.

A commonly mistyped example of the more commonly known unfortunate. But it means basically the same thing. And if you couldn't get that from context then, well, you should be pretty concerned.
Katrina ment to say that her friend's shoulder hurting was unfortunate, but she mispelled it infortunate. But, due to his superb intelligence, he still got the general meaning.
