play in the v

originally a cricketing term where the batter would show strong fundamentals and admirable restraint to hit down the ground (usually along the carpet), eschewing any agricultural cross-batted swipes

v - refers to the batting pitch map where such sensible shots would form a V shape over the course of an innings

note - also can apply to bedroom activities
Good luck on the date with Jess… Take time to get your eye in and just play in the v

Q - How’d you go in the interview
A - Yeah good, I kept my shots along the ground and played in the v

Guy 1 - I’d love to go to the gym but my ankle’s a bit sore plus I have a big day and oh by the way it’s my nephews birthday

pushing the antelope

Variation of ‘pushing the envelope’ where an act already on the edge of reasonable behaviour is combined with the awkwardness of trying directing an unruly antelope.

Much more messy than simply Pushing The Envelope; which as the name implies is actually boring and administrative.
woah Kenneth was really pushing the antelope last night at dinner with his audacious behaviour!

Nice and Fork

Kid-friendly version of ‘knife and fork’ - used in households where sharp blades are discouraged; thus keeping the word Knife out of the lexicon. For as long as possible anyway.

Cutlery typically comprises a fork and a spoon only; hence known as Nice and Fork
OK kids - get your nice and forks from the tray then come and sit on the picnic blanket

Parent - please set the table with the Nice and Fork

Child - ugh
