The Armadillo Pet takes the form of a head on the ground when summoned. It will attempt to follow the player around, but it moves extremely slowly. If the pet is too far away, it may teleport to its owner.
Right-clicking the pet allows the player to mount it, allowing them to control its movements. The pet has an Energy meter which appears above the XP bar when riding; this meter depletes when the Armadillo moves or a movement button is held, except vertical movement. When the meter reaches 0, the Armadillo will stop moving, and stamina regen will halt. The stamina of the Armadillo naturally regenerates at about 1 stamina per 3 seconds while equipped, this means it would take 300 seconds, or 5 minutes for the Armadillo to go from 0 to 100. The pet's speed while riding it is based on the player's Speed Stat Speed.
When riding the pet within the Crystal Hollows, all blocks minable with a held pickaxe (excluding Cobblestone, and blocks within protected areas) in an area 3 blocks tall, 2 blocks wide and 1 block deep in front of the pet will be broken instantly. The blocks will be broken as if the player had used the tool they had been holding to break the blocks. If the held tool is not a Pickaxe or does not have enough Breaking Power Stat Breaking Power, the blocks will not be broken. Broken blocks will be affected by Compact, Mining Fortune Stat Mining Fortune and Pristine Stat Pristine. Gemstones mined with the Armadillo count towards Commissions.
