It started in late february 2021, and snowballed into an attempt to undermine trans acceptance by 'using their logic against them' (-anon discord user). It attracted approximately 250,000 interactions across social media platforms through a handful of viral posts before being widely banned in mid-march. After this, it largely returned to being a fringe meme.
