Plastiphobia

The irrational and scientifically unsubstantiated fear of plastics in the environment. This fear has been propagated by those with monetary business interests to spread this fear in the effort to raise funds and grow their businesses by spreading falsehoods about the fanciful idea that plastics are the root if all evil in the environment.
The not for profit companies are attempting to create Plastiphobia in an effort to raise money based on the irrational fear of plastics in the environment.

escape affair

Escape Affair: A synonym for the phrase, ‘escape sex’, this describes the desire for a person to seek out romance and sexual relations with an ‘outside neutral party’ that helps them forget what they are trying to escape from.
Veronica was so frustrated after years of work on the Penske File, that she hated her work, her colleagues and even her husband. She needed an ‘Escape Affair’ To try and mask her feelings, she needed to escape with someone who didn’t want to talk about her problems. So she started banging the milkman!

Boatager

A person or people that regularly visits their boats ‘in marina’ and essentially are using this space as a floating cottage. They rarely actually pass the ‘pump out station’ and venture into the ‘big waters’
What is up with ‘Rain Man”? He just comes and sits on his boat and ‘goes nowhere’. We need need more boatagers like him to support the marina. Even during the summer solstice, he never ventured into the TO islands to enjoy the amazing sunset.

Holodeckaholic

An anticipated future term, this will be the affliction that disallows people to leave their Holodeck easily. Indeed, to the point of addiction. As many will know, the Holodeck was first seen on Star Trek and simulate a completely immersive Virtual Reality (VR) experience. When you can literally enter a space that simulates everything that the real world offers except it can be programmed to personal preferences like: A Sherlock Holmes mystery; a trip to the beach; or anything the heart or mind desires.
I think that Bob has a real problem, all he does is pay his power bill and won't leave his Holodeck. I think he is an Holodeckaholic!

G.A.F.F.E

GAFFE is an acronym for - Greenwashing Attempt For Fundraising Efforts. There is now a prevalent effort for NGO’s and other nonprofit organizations to raise money based on fears that have little or no scientific evidence to support there causes. However, these organizations will shamelessly propagate misinformation to create fear, sympathy and anger to promote their causes in an effort to raise money for themselves.
Did you see that NGO showing a picture of a turtle with a plastic bag around it’s neck? When confronted, they admitted to the BBC that it was a photoshopped image and the BBC retracted the story when this was found out.. just another example of a G.A.F.F.E. that is being used in media and on-line

shipcopalypse

The overwhelming volume of on-line ordering and shipments during a peak season (like Christmas) that combined with a natural health disaster (like Covid19) that keeps people close to home and social distancing.
The combination of Covid19 and the Christmas season are going to create a shipcopalypse. I hope I ordered on-line early enough
