If you had voted for Churchill in 1945, and not that Labour dick Clement Atlee, we wouldn't have this expensive service; which is a boon only to those who abuse it.

short circuit 

When the medium of electrical transfer takes a shorter path back to the power source (cell or batteries) thus shortening the circuit, and leaving out the resistor (motor, lightbulb, buzzer etc.).


Short circuiting will drain the power source at a phenomenal rate, and is best avoided. The most commonly used method of prevention against this is the (see my definition of) fuse

When I was learning this crap in school a few years back we constantly short circuited all our shit toghether to create huge sparks that whooped the batteries in minutes.
