Jovial term initially used to describe a man or woman of African origin, having just woken up and thus possessing a 'misty' look, with swollen lips, eyes, cheeks, and other effects on facial areas. Also acting with short temper and irritation, probably from the annoyance of being woken up from a pleasant slumber. Now used to describe all creeds/races.
