Jahre Viking

The biggest moving object ever created by human hands. Period.

She was built in 1979 as Seawise Giant, was later renamed Happy Giant, and then Jahre Viking. Very recently (2004) she has been renamed again, and is now called Knock Nevis.
This is the news. Today the supertanker Jahre Viking collided head on with the USS Nimitz. The Nimitz was obliterated, while the Jahre Viking suffered minor damage.

SSD

An abreviation for the Executor class Star Dreadnought (Star Wars), commonly called a "super star destroyer".

A gigantic 17.6 km (11 mile) battleship, the first example, Executor, was Darth Vader's flagship during the Empire Strikes Back.

The second SSD, Lusankya, was secretly buried under the surface of Coruscant, and later, under the control of a cloned Palpatine, burst up out of the planet and rose to space, killing some hundreds of millions in the process.
The SSD Executor punched out of hyperspace surrounded by six ISDs which looked like dinky toys by comparison.

piett

When someone really screws up and you think there's going to be hell to pay but they somehow get away with it.
It comes from Admiral Piett in Star Wars. After the millenium falcon goes into hyperspace in the Empire Strikes Back, you just know Vader is going to strangle Piett like all the others who "failed him". But... he doesn't.

(Piett survives until the next movie, finaly dying when a rebel A-wing fighter crashes through the bridge of his ship)
