The up shot is that in many cities bands and artists who play their own material are excluded from playing the better venues in the area because all the slots are filled by these third rate karioke clones.
"Sorry lads it's tribute bands only on the weekend" (A phrase often heard by original material musicians.)

However the project was scraped after Community at Heart withdrew funding claiming that they didn't have the fianances to complete the project. Yet the same quango still managed to find another £1.5 million extra cash for it's universally unpopular masterplan
